As a sales promoter, you will be responsible for promoting and selling products or services to customers. This will involve approaching potential customers, presenting products or services in a positive light, and persuading customers to purchase the product or service. You will need to be able to think on your feet and come up with creative ways to promote the product or service. In some cases, you may also be responsible for setting up and managing promotional events.

Sales Promoter Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with product selection; maintain store appearance and presentation; and answer customer questions
  • Sell and promote company products through store and online channels; create product displays and demonstrations; and participate in the sales process
  • Deliver exceptional customer service; maintain store appearance; and act as a role model
  • Act as a brand ambassador by supporting local charity efforts, community awareness events, and product launches


  • Research, identify, and make contact with potential prospects
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with current clients
  • Maintain and develop positive relationships with customers
  • Create and maintain a positive image of the company at seminars and trade shows
  • Liaise with human resources and marketing to communicate company sales goals

Sales Promoter Skills Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education
  • 2+ years’ experience selling products and services to customers
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Knowledge of basic effective sales techniques
  • Strong organizational and problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills in Excel
