A Product Specialist is responsible for seeking out leads and then managing relationships, prospecting for new customers, and closing sales. They work closely with sales teams, maintain client relationships, and provide product training. They also research new trends and industry standards, and present their findings to upper management.

Product Specialist Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, including planning, scheduling, and following up on leads and proposals
  • Oversee and document daily product verification and quality control, including taking photographs and videos of products and contacting vendors as needed
  • Record all product updates and modifications
  • Maintain product database, including product certifications, spec sheets, images, and descriptions
  • Research and provide technical support to sales personnel
  • Work with sales team to ensure customer satisfaction and adequate product performance
  • Perform administrative duties, including document management, record keeping, data entry, and scheduling
  • Maintain office/warehouse space, including ordering office supplies and obtaining equipment

Product Specialist Skills Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related field
  • 2+ years’ experience in product marketing, brand management, or online media
