The job of a Picker is to lift, move, load, and unload materials from a store. A Picker must be able to lift and carry heavy loads without injuring themselves.

Picker Job Responsibilities

  • Select, sort, and pack product received in warehouse, using forklift, pallet jack, and computer controlled equipment
  • Sort and stock finished product in warehouse, and inspect items for quality and consistency
  • Prepare detailed reports of picking and inventory information
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

  • Use hand eye coordination, eye hand coordination, manual dexterity, and tactile acuity to operate industrial equipment
  • Gather, sort, and load materials into trailers
  • Load materials into trucks, lift trucks, or other types of industrial equipment
  • Load, unload, and sort materials at truck or railcar docks or scales
  • Select, load, and unload materials into containers
  • Position materials on racks, shelves, and in bins or on pallets
  • Load and unload trucks, lift trucks, or other types of industrial equipment
  • Move pallets and other objects to form a line for transportation
  • Operate industrial equipment to lift, pull, carry, and place materials into position
  • Load and unload materials into trucks, lift trucks, or other types of industrial equipment

Picker  Skills Needed

  • Experience in warehouse operations
  • Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high volume warehouse environment
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
