Material Handler Job Responsibilities
- Receive and check incoming shipments of materials
- Verify that materials received match purchase orders or invoices
- Inspect materials for damage or defects
- Record information about received materials, such as quantity, type, and destination
- Store materials in designated areas within the warehouse
- Retrieve stored materials as needed to fill customer orders or for use in production
- Load outgoing shipments of materials onto trucks or other conveyances

- To load, unload, and move materials within a warehouse or storage facility
- To operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment in a safe and efficient manner

Material Handler Job Skills & Qualifications Needed
- The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- The ability to lift heavy objects and use material handling equipment.
- Forklift certification may be required.
