The Specimen Processor is responsible for the receipt, accessioning and processing of all laboratory specimens. They ensure that all specimens are properly labeled and meet all requirements for testing. The Specimen Processor works closely with the phlebotomist and clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate specimen collection and processing.

  • The skills and qualifications needed for the role of Specimen Processor include excellent communication and organizational skills, detailoriented nature, ability to work independently as well as part of a team, and basic computer literacy. Prior experience working in a medical laboratory environment is preferred but not required.
