The Rehab Aide is responsible for providing support to physical therapists and patients during therapy sessions. The Rehab Aide will assist with exercises, stretching, and other activities as directed by the physical therapist. He or she will also help to transport patients to and from therapy sessions, and provide support during treatments. The Rehab Aide must be able to work well independently and follow instructions carefully.

Rehab Aide Job Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with exercises and activities prescribed by physical therapists
  • Help patients practice moving in and out of bed, using canes or walkers, and other basic movements
  • Provide support and encouragement to patients as they regain strength and mobility
  • Report any changes in patient condition to the supervising physical therapist
  • Clean and maintain therapy equipment

Rehab Aide Job Skills & Qualifications Needed

  • The skills and qualifications needed for the role of Rehab Aide include excellent communication and customer service skills, basic computer literacy, and the ability to follow oral and written instructions. Prior experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred but not required.
