The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for providing medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician. This includes performing physical examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and counseling patients on health maintenance and disease prevention. The PA also assists in surgery and provides other medical services as needed. Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited PA program is required. Certification: Certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required. License: A state license is required to practice as a PA.
