The Pediatric Physical Therapist provides physical therapy services to infants, children and adolescents with congenital, developmental, neuromuscular, skeletal or acquired disorders/dysfunction. Services may include: assessment; intervention; consultation; and education. The Physical Therapist works collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary team to establish and achieve therapeutic goals.

Pediatric Physical Therapist Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess patients to create individualized treatment plans
  • Administer physical therapy treatments such as exercises, massages, and electrical stimulation
  • Instruct patients and caregivers on proper at-home care techniques
  • Document patient progress and communicate findings to other members of the healthcare team
  • Regularly reassess patients to determine the effectiveness of treatments and make necessary modifications
