The Nursery Nurse will be responsible for the care and supervision of the children in the nursery. They will work closely with the other staff members to ensure that the children are safe and happy. The Nursery Nurse will also be responsible for planning and implementing activities for the children.

Objectives

  • To provide a safe, clean and stimulating environment for children to learn and play in.
  • To work with other staff members to plan and implement activities suitable for the age group of children in your care.
  • To promote the physical, emotional, social and intellectual development of the children in your care.
  • To keep accurate records of the children's progress and development.
  • To maintain good communication with parents/carers, updating them on their child's progress and any concerns you may have.
  • To liaise with other professionals such as health visitors, speech therapists etc where necessary

Nursery Nurse Job Skills & Qualifications Needed

  • A nursery nurse should have a caring and nurturing nature, as well as the ability to be patient and attentive. They should also have good communication skills, as they will be working closely with both children and parents. A qualifications in childcare would be beneficial, although it is not essential.
