They develop, implement, and evaluate educational plans and materials while maintaining a high level of knowledge in their field. The Nurse Educator also provides guidance and mentorship to new nurses and acts as a resource for experienced nurses.

Nurse Educator Job Skills & Qualifications Needed

  • The skills and qualifications needed for the role of Nurse Educator are: A Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of two years clinical experience. A Master’s degree in Nursing or related field. Certification as a nurse educator from a nationally recognized organization such as the National League for Nursing or American Nurses Association. Experience teaching nursing students in an academic setting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
