The MRI Technologist will be responsible for operating the MRI machine and providing quality images as per the Radiologist's request. They will also be responsible for the patient's safety and comfort during the exam. Prior to the exam, they will explain the procedure to the patient and answer any questions they may have.

MRI Technologist Job Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with scheduling and preparation for MRI procedures
  • Answer patient questions and provide support throughout the procedure
  • Position patients on the MRI table and ensure they are comfortable
  • Operate the MRI machine to obtain highquality images
  • Review images with the radiologist or referring physician to determine if additional images are needed
  • Maintain accurate records of all procedures performed

MRI Technologist Job Skills & Qualifications Needed

  • The skills and qualifications needed for the role of MRI Technologist include:
  • Completion of an accredited radiology technology program
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Certification in MRI technology from ARRT or other professional organization
  • Current CPR certification
  • Experience working with MRI equipment and images
