The Leasing Agent is responsible for renting out properties on behalf of the landlord. This includes advertising the property, screening potential tenants, negotiating leases, and collecting rent. The Leasing Agent must be knowledgeable about the local rental market and able to work independently.

Leasing Agent Job Skills & Qualifications Needed

  • The skills and qualifications needed for the role of a leasing agent vary depending on the company and position. However, most companies will require their leasing agents to have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, as well as experience in customer service and/or sales. Additionally, many companies prefer candidates who have some knowledge of real estate law and/or are certified by the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
