The Health Informatics Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing electronic health records (EHR) systems. They will work with clinicians and other staff to ensure that the EHR system meets their needs and is user-friendly. The Specialist will also train staff on how to use the EHR system, and troubleshoot any issues that arise. In addition, the Specialist will develop reports from the EHR data to help improve patient care.

Health Informatics Specialist Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the medical and information technology (IT) staff in order to ensure that the electronic health records (EHR) system meets the needs of both groups.
  • Train medical staff on how to use the EHR system, including entering data, retrieving information, and using features such as eprescribing.
  • Work with IT staff to troubleshoot technical problems with the EHR system.
  • Monitor compliance with federal and state regulations related to the use of EHRs, such as ensuring that patient privacy is protected.
  • Develop policies and procedures for using the EHR system, including guidelines for data entry and security measures.
  • Stay upto-date on new developments in health informatics and make recommendations on how to incorporate them into the EHR system.
