Event Planner  Responsibilities

  • Oversee daytoday event planning and management, including managing all vendors, hosting site inspections, coordinating with the client and venue, submitting entertainment requests, and ensuring event timelines are met
  • Research and negotiate contract terms for event vendors including entertainment, catering, décor, security, and transportation
  • Manage event budgets and work to ensure adherence to budgets
  • Send daily event updates, post event recaps, and follow up on guest satisfaction
  • Manage all equipment and vendor deliveries and installations
  • Create and implement safety plans, including emergency evacuation plans, for events
  • Notify the appropriate authorities in the event of an emergency
  • Manage event logistics including set up, strike, teardown, and clean up
  • Monitor event security and emergency evacuation procedures
  • Create event marketing content, including event descriptions, event images, and event specific webpage

Event Planner Skills Needed

  • Bachelor’s degree in event planning, public relations, or a related field
  • 5+ years of event planning experience
  • Experience creating and managing budgets
  • Excellent team leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
