An Event Manager is responsible for the planning, execution and coordination of events. They work with a variety of clients to ensure that all aspects of the event are taken care of, from start to finish. Event Managers are often required to work long hours, as many events take place in the evening or on weekends.An Event Manager must be highly organized and have excellent communication skills. They must be able to work well under pressure and handle last minute changes. Event Managers must also be able to think on their feet and come up with creative solutions to problems that may arise.

Event Manager Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee event setup, strike, teardown, and delivery of all materials and services
  • Assist event planners and clients during set up, strike, teardown, and delivery of events
  • Maintain and update event contract documents with subcontractors, vendors, etc.
  • Coordinate catering, catering staff, and bar services, including banquet and dining
  • Conduct event delivery, set up, and strike
  • Attend pre, during, and postevent meetings with clients and event planners
  • Supervise and oversee cleanup of event site
  • Oversee event reconciliation and close out
  • Manage event inventory and billing

Objectives

  • Manage various community events and functions, including, but not limited to, galas, weddings, and other parties
  • Develop relationships with sponsors, vendors, and other professionals involved in planning events
  • Organize event logistics including booking venues, creating guest lists, and procuring food and drink

Event Manager Skills Needed
