The Elementary School Teacher will be responsible for planning and delivering instruction to students in grades K-6. They will develop lesson plans, deliver lectures, lead small group discussions, and assess student progress. The teacher will create a positive learning environment that meets the individual needs of each student. They will also maintain communication with parents/guardians regarding student progress and behavior.

Elementary School Teacher Job Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement daily lesson plans for assigned class(es).
  • Develop and administer tests and quizzes to assess student progress.
  • Meet with parents or guardians as needed to discuss student progress or behavioral issues.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and homework assignments.
  • Select textbooks, instructional materials, and other resources as needed.
  • Attend faculty meetings and professional development workshops as required by the school district or charter school organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school principal or other administrators
