The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, including but not limited to menu development, food preparation, staff supervision, and budget management. This position reports directly to the Executive Chef. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a high volume kitchen, as well as Culinary Arts degree or equivalent experience.

Chef de Cuisine Job Responsibilities

  • The Chef de Cuisine is responsible for all aspects of the kitchen operation, including but not limited to: food purchasing, menu development, food preparation, staff supervision and training, kitchen maintenance and sanitation.

Objectives

  • To manage the kitchen staff and oversee the daily operations of the kitchen. To ensure that all food is prepared to the highest standards and within budget. To develop menus in consultation with the Head Chef and Restaurant Manager. To order supplies and equipment as needed. To monitor stock levels and control wastage. To maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.
