Ink slinger extraordinaire! As a tattoo artist, you’ll be responsible for creating permanent works of art on your clients’ skin. This involves consulting with clients to determine what they want, designing custom tattoos, and then inking them onto skin using sterile needles and ink. You’ll need to have excellent artistic skills, as well as the ability to listen to and understand your clients’ desires. Safety is also paramount in this role – you’ll need to make sure that both you and your clients are following all safety protocols at all times.

Tattoo Artist Job Responsibilities

  • Meeting with clients to discuss their tattoo designs
  • Drawing up custom tattoo designs for clients
  • Transferring tattoo designs onto skin using a stencil
  • Inking the tattoo design onto skin with a needle and electric gun
  • Applying ointment and bandages to tattoos after they are completed
