- Work with producers and artists to develop musical concepts and ideas into complete songs.
- Arrange and record demo versions of songs to present to potential buyers or performers.
- Collaborate with lyricists to create song lyrics that fit the melody and style of the music.
- Select appropriate instruments and voices for each section of a song, considering factors such as tone, texture, harmony, and rhythm.
- Edit existing songs or write new arrangements of old songs to change the feel or style of the piece while maintaining its original intent and meaning.
- Research trends in music genres to stay upto-date on current styles
