The Set Designer is responsible for creating the physical environment of the production. This includes researching and selecting the appropriate setting and furnishings, as well as designing and overseeing the construction of all scenic elements. The Set Designer works closely with the Director and other members of the design team to ensure that the set meets all functional and aesthetic requirements.

Set Designer Job Responsibilities

  • Design and construct sets for theatrical, television, and film productions

  • Select and procure set materials such as lumber, drywall, paint, props, furniture, and decorations
