The Project Architect is responsible for leading and managing the design of assigned projects, ensuring that the design meets the client’s needs and requirements. The Project Architect is also responsible for coordinating with other disciplines within the firm to ensure a coordinated design. In addition, the Project Architect is responsible for communicating with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the design and construction process.

Project Architect Job Responsibilities

  • Create detailed plans and drawings for construction projects
  • Oversee the progress of construction projects from start to finish
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Ensure that all building codes and regulations are met
  • Communicate with clients to understand their needs and goals for the project

Objectives

  • To lead and oversee all aspects of the architectural design process for assigned projects
  • To develop creative solutions that are responsive to the client’s needs, site conditions, and budget
  • To prepare detailed construction documents and specifications
  • To collaborate with consultants, engineers, and other design professionals as needed
  • To coordinate with contractors during the construction phase to ensure that the project is built according to plans and specifications
  • To provide postoccupancy evaluations of completed projects

Project Architect Job Skills & Qualifications Needed

  • A minimum of 5 years professional experience in an architectural practice
  • Bachelor of Architecture (or equivalent) from an accredited university
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Valid driver’s license
