The Production Assistant is responsible for assisting the Producer with all aspects of production. This includes but is not limited to: budgeting, scheduling, casting, locations, props, and set design. The Production Assistant will also be responsible for running errands and keeping the set organized and tidy.

Production Assistant Job Responsibilities

  • Assist the production team in set up and break down of equipment
  • Help to maintain organization and cleanliness on set
  • Ensure that all talent is comfortable and has what they need
  • Liaise between the production team and other departments as needed
  • Run errands as needed
  • Provide general support to the production team

Objectives

  • Maintain production schedule and coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of products
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for raw materials and supplies as needed
  • Track production data and generate reports to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and good manufacturing practices in the production area
  • Provide support to Production Manager as needed

  • The skills and qualifications needed for the role of Production Assistant vary depending on the production. However, most productions will require the Production Assistant to have excellent organizational skills, the ability to multitask, and be able to work well under pressure. Additionally, many Productions Assistants have a college degree in film or television production.
