Perform various types of nondestructive testing (NDT) examinations on materials, parts, or products to evaluate their suitability for use. Select and set up appropriate NDT equipment and methods based on the type of examination to be conducted, expected results, and desired level of precision. Operate NDT equipment to generate test data and analyze results according to established procedures. Prepare accurate reports that document test results and conclusions.

NDT Technician Job Responsibilities

  • Perform various NDT methods including but not limited to: Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Magnetic Particle, Penetrant and Radiographic testing
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Set up and calibrate equipment according to prescribed procedures
  • Conduct tests in accordance with approved procedures, recording results and generating reports
  • Maintain accurate records of all testing activities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new or improved testing methods and techniques
  • May be required to perform other related duties as assigned
