A grip is responsible for the set up and operation of various pieces of equipment used on a film or television set. This may include tripods, dollies, tracks, jibs, cranes, and any other mechanical devices used to assist in the production. The grip must be able to safely and effectively operate all of this equipment while also being aware of their surroundings and the needs of the camera operator.
