Applications Engineer Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical expert for assigned applications and provide guidance to less experienced staff.
- Plan, conduct, and coordinate work requiring judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, adaptation, and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Perform complex engineering tasks associated with developing or modifying software applications. Tasks may include requirements analysis, software design and coding, integration testing, performance tuning, and user support.
- Investigate customer reported software issues to determine root cause and develop solutions.
- Write or contribute to technical documentation such as application manuals or Knowledge Base articles.
