A Screen Printer is responsible for creating custom designs on t-shirts, posters, and other materials using a screen printing machine. They must be able to load the screens onto the machine, mix inks, and operate the machine to print the design correctly. They must also be able to clean the screens and machines after each use.

Screen Printer Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare screens for printing by coating with emulsion and drying in a dark room.
  • Expose screens to light using a positive image to burn the image into the screen.
  • Set up and operate a screenprinting press to print images on fabric, paper, or other materials.
  • Clean screens after printing runs using solvents and brushes.
  • Maintain an inventory of screens, inks, and other supplies needed for printing jobs.
  • Keep records of production runs and submit reports to management as needed
